Kominote (“Kominote,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Kominote community and marketplace platform at www.mykominote.com and the Kominote mobile apps (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name and avatar.
- Profile & content — your bio, photos, posts, comments, listings, reviews, and messages you choose to share.
- Marketplace & transactions — items you list, add to your cart, or purchase, and related order details. Card and payment data is collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications — messages you send to other members through the Service.
- Usage & device data — basic technical information such as device type, browser, and interactions needed to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies & session data — we use cookies to keep you signed in and to protect your account.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your account.
- To power community features (feed, profiles, follows, messaging) and the marketplace (listings, cart, orders, payments).
- To send transactional and notification emails you have not opted out of.
- To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- Other members — your public profile and any content you post are visible to other signed-in members. Sellers and buyers share the information needed to complete a transaction.
- Service providers — Supabase (hosting, database, authentication), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), and our email provider process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Kominote, our members, or the public.
4. Payments
Marketplace payments are handled by Stripe. When you check out, your payment details are submitted directly to Stripe and are subject to Stripe’s privacy policy. We receive confirmation of payment and order details, not your full card number.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
6. Your rights and choices
- Access, update, or correct your profile information at any time from your account.
- Manage notification and email preferences in your settings.
- Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by emailing us.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where our providers operate.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
