Professional & Service Provider Terms
Last updated: September 6, 2026
Rules for professionals and service providers offering services through Kominote
1. Scope
These Terms apply to professionals and service providers who list, quote, book, perform, or receive payment for services through Kominote. They supplement the Kominote Terms of Service.
2. Provider Qualifications
Providers must accurately represent identity, experience, qualifications, licenses, certifications, insurance, business status, portfolio, service locations, and other material information. Where a profession legally requires a license or authorization, the provider is solely responsible for maintaining it.
3. Verification
A Kominote verification badge indicates completion of the applicable Kominote verification process. It is not a government license, professional endorsement, guarantee of work quality, or guarantee of future conduct.
4. Service Listings
Service descriptions must clearly identify scope, pricing basis, duration where applicable, delivery method, service area, remote availability, cancellation terms, and material exclusions.
5. Pricing and Fees
At initial launch, the intended standard provider marketplace fee is 8%, with an intended buyer service fee of 3%, subject to the then-current fee schedule. A configurable minimum fee may apply. Binding fees are those disclosed for the transaction.
6. Non-Refundable Kominote Fees
Kominote service, marketplace, and transaction fees are non-refundable by default, except where required by applicable law or expressly authorized by Kominote.
7. Booking Types
Kominote may support Instant Booking, Request Approval, and Request Quote workflows. Providers must honor confirmed commitments or properly cancel/reschedule them through the Platform.
8. Custom Quotes
Quotes should clearly state proposed price, deposit, scope, deliverables, estimated completion, timing, expiration, and material conditions. Once accepted and paid, the quote becomes part of the transaction record.
9. Availability and Scheduling
Providers are responsible for maintaining accurate availability and avoiding double-booking. Providers should promptly update unavailable dates and respond to booking requests within reasonable timeframes.
10. Cancellations, No-Shows, and Completion
Cancellations and no-shows are governed by the policy attached to the booking and applicable law. A provider's unilateral selection of 'completed' does not by itself guarantee immediate payout.
11. Payouts
Provider earnings may remain pending until applicable settlement conditions are met. Payouts may be held or adjusted for disputes, refunds, chargebacks, fraud review, verification, policy violations, or legal requirements.
12. Professional Responsibility
Providers are responsible for the legality, quality, safety, and professional standard of their services. Kominote does not replace professional judgment, regulatory oversight, licensing boards, or required insurance.
13. Off-Platform Circumvention
Providers may not intentionally use Kominote primarily to obtain customers and then direct those customers to pay outside Kominote to avoid applicable Platform fees.
14. Reviews
Reviews associated with completed Kominote bookings may receive a Verified Booking designation. Providers may not manipulate or retaliate against users for legitimate reviews.
