Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Rules governing product returns, service cancellations, and transaction refunds

1. Purpose

This Policy explains how Kominote handles product refunds, returns, service cancellations, partial refunds, and related adjustments. Specific sellers or service providers may have additional policies, but applicable law always controls where it provides non-waivable rights.

2. Kominote Fees

Kominote platform, marketplace, service, and minimum transaction fees are non-refundable by default. This applies even when an underlying product or service is cancelled, returned, or refunded, except where required by law or expressly authorized by Kominote.

3. Product Returns and Refunds

Product refund eligibility may depend on the seller's disclosed return policy, product condition, delivery status, incorrect or missing items, damage, significant misdescription, non-delivery, and applicable consumer law.

4. Service Cancellations

Service bookings may use Flexible, Moderate, Strict, or Custom cancellation policies. The cancellation policy in effect when a booking is created should be stored with that booking and govern the transaction unless law requires otherwise.

5. Partial Refunds

Kominote may facilitate partial refunds where appropriate. Partial product or service refunds do not automatically produce proportional refunds of Kominote platform fees.

6. Shipping Charges

Original shipping charges may or may not be refundable depending on the reason for return, the seller's policy, and applicable law. Return shipping responsibility should be disclosed where possible.

7. Payment Processor Fees

Third-party payment-processing costs are separate from Kominote fees and may be non-refundable or partially refundable according to the payment provider's rules.

8. Refund Processing

Approved refunds may require processing time before appearing in the customer's original payment method. Timing may depend on the payment provider and financial institution.

9. Disputes and Evidence

Kominote may request photographs, shipping records, tracking information, messages, receipts, booking details, or other evidence when reviewing a refund or dispute.

10. Administrative Exceptions

Authorized Kominote administrators may approve a Kominote fee refund or credit for legal requirements, Platform error, fraud resolution, dispute resolution, or exceptional customer-service reasons. Such actions should be logged and auditable.
