How Kominote supports marketplace integrity, verification, and user safety
1. Trust & Safety Approach
Kominote combines transaction records, account verification, user reporting, fraud controls, moderation, and human review to support a trustworthy marketplace and community environment.
2. Verification Programs
Kominote may offer designations such as Verified Business, Verified Professional, Haitian-Owned, Made in Haiti, or Verified Organization. Criteria may differ by badge and may evolve over time.
3. Meaning of Verification
Verification indicates that Kominote completed the applicable verification process using information available at the time. It is not a guarantee of future conduct, product quality, solvency, professional competence, or legal compliance.
4. Transaction Protection Practices
Kominote maintains records of payments, orders, bookings, messages, shipping, refunds, and disputes to support transaction review. Users are encouraged to keep eligible payments and communications within Kominote so the Platform can retain relevant records.
5. Fraud Prevention
Kominote may evaluate account activity, transaction patterns, payment risk, device information, verification information, shipping activity, reports, and suspicious messaging behavior to detect fraud, account takeover, scams, and fee circumvention.
6. Payout and Transaction Holds
Transactions or payouts may be delayed when reasonably necessary for fraud, dispute, chargeback, verification, security, or legal review, subject to applicable law and payment-provider rules.
7. Reporting Safety Concerns
Users should have access to a Report a Problem function for fraud, harassment, suspicious sellers or buyers, prohibited items, payment issues, impersonation, unsafe behavior, or other concerns.
8. Evidence and Investigations
Kominote may consider messages, listings, payment records, shipping information, booking details, user reports, verification documents, and other relevant evidence when investigating a case.
9. Emergency Situations
Kominote is not an emergency service. Individuals facing immediate danger should contact appropriate local emergency or law-enforcement services where available.
10. Cooperation with Authorities
Kominote may preserve or disclose information in response to valid legal process or where permitted by law to address serious safety threats, fraud, or unlawful activity.
